After having a gastric bypass and losing over 75 lbs in 2001, I had regained nearly 35 lbs back over the next 5 years. I was 60 years old and felt so bad that my conversation everyday included the saying, “getting old sucks!”

I was addicted to Diet Pepsi and couldn’t understand why I was gaining weight. I had chronic fatigue syndrome, depression, insomnia, weight gain, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, gall stones, arthritis and asthma. I had just had arthritis scoped out of my right knee and needed surgery on the left. Then after going through physical therapy, I developed plantar fasciitis.

I had been on 5 different prescription medications for nearly 20 years for high blood pressure, depression and asthma.
