Hi. I am 51, have hypothyroidism and in perimenopause. My symptoms started about a year ago with restless nights due to hot flashes, being tired and extremely moody. I could go from feeling comfortable to feeling like a fire inside (which resulted in instant sweat in seconds). I felt desperate and tried Black Cohosh per Dr. recommendation. That did nothing.

So then I tried over-the-counter Amberen.  Oh my, not a good idea!! After 2 weeks of use, I became caffeine intolerant. I thought I was having a heart attack. Needless to say, I threw those pills out in the garbage and after a week, I was able to drink my morning coffee again without issues. But I still had my other problems. All I was told is that this is life and try and deal with it.
