In 1997 I started to have problems with my left leg at the knee joint. My specialist told me that I had a torn ligament and recommended surgery. After the surgery I found out it was not a torn ligament, but in fact arthritis and while the doctor was still doing surgery he made the decision to scrape my knee cap because he felt a small spur under the cap.

I continued to have problems and had a second surgery about six months later, this time a Lateral Release. I was told that I would have to wear a full leg brace for the rest of my life and another surgery would result in a knee replacement.

I was at a total loss for a while, gained 38 pounds and missed out on various activities. I also suffered from severe migraines and acid reflux and I needed prescribed medication to keep my sanity. Combined with a bad leg and gaining weight and migraines, this made for a very unhappy lady!!
